Are you looking for a nature adventure right in Las Vegas? You need to journey out to the Mojave Desert and visit Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. It took us 23 minutes to get out to Red Rock Canyon from Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Be sure to stop at the sign when you enter the Conservation Area. The drive to the scenic route is a little up the road past the sign.
It is a 13 mile one way drive through the scenic Red Rock Canyon. It is $20 to get in at the gate. There are places to stop along the way to take pictures, get out and hike, or even go to the visitor’s center. We drove the Ferrari 812 Superfast, 7 speed, 788 horsepower through Red Rock Canyon. This was a thrill in itself!
We just got out for a few photo spots and the bathroom, but we kept driving through the area so we could get the full thrill. It was July when we went and 107 degrees so we didn’t want to hike or horseback ride. We ended up going two different days and driving through the Red Rock Canyon because we loved the scenery so much. We blasted music and rolled the windows down. It is hard to believe that is 25 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.
There are 26 hikes and trails in this park. I would love to try one of these next time I go to Las Vegas and explore more of the Red Rock Canyon.
